The top-ranked player Aryna Sabalenka has been chosen the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second successive season.

The twenty-seven-year-old secured four titles – the highest tally on the circuit – including retaining the US Open this past September against Amanda Anisimova to claim her fourth Grand Slam singles triumph.

A Year of Dominance

Throughout the year, Sabalenka played in a tour-best nine finals, with losses coming to Madison Keys in the Australian Open final in January and Coco Gauff in the French Open final.

The Belarusian also won the Brisbane International in January, the Miami Open in March, and the Madrid Open in May. She remained the whole season as the top-ranked player, finishing 2025 on top of the rankings for a second successive year.

In July, she achieved the status of being the first player to top 12,000 WTA ranking points since Serena Williams in 2015.

Record-Breaking Statistics

Sabalenka ended the season with a sixty-three to twelve win-loss record, and earned a historic eleven million pounds in earnings.

She received almost eighty percent of the votes cast by global tennis journalists.

On 28 December, she is set to play 2022 Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios in a Battle of the Sexes-style exhibition match with the aim of "raise women's tennis to a higher level".

Additional WTA Award Honorees

• Comeback Player of the Year: Switzerland's Belinda Bencic, twenty-eight, received the award after taking extended hiatus following the birth of her daughter and returning to the sport earlier this season.
• Newcomer of the Year: Canadian 19-year-old Victoria Mboko was honored with the award after beginning the season ranked beyond the world's top 300 and soaring to world number 18.
• Partnership of the Year: Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend were voted after capturing their second career Grand Slam title together.
• Biggest Leap of the Year: Amanda Anisimova received the accolade after reaching five finals.

Recently, Carlos Alcaraz took home three awards in the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Awards, which included the season-ending top rank award, while Jannik Sinner was voted the fan favorite for a third consecutive time.
