Close to 25,000 Lost Electricity in South-East Queensland and Victoria Following Powerful Weather Systems
Approximately twenty-five thousand households in Queensland's southeast were left without power on the start of the week after intense storm systems impacted the region, generating powerful gusts hitting over 100 km/h.
Substantial Hailstones and Extensive Damage
Locals observed giant hailstones reaching sizes of 7cm in some areas. Weather authorities confirmed that multiple regions across Queensland had been affected by large hailstones.

Response teams were attempting to repair energy supply throughout the damaged zones, with dozens of response units working to handle the extensive power failures.
Southern State's Weather Woes
At the same time, approximately one thousand energy customers in the southern state also experienced power outages after the metropolitan area experienced its most precipitation in a year and a half.
State Emergency Services handled 598 emergency reports across the area, mainly for property damage but also for downed trees and flooding.

- Hoppers Crossing suburb - multiple assistance requests
- Wyndham region - 179 emergency requests
At one point on Sunday, more than twenty-eight thousand electricity consumers in Victoria were experiencing outages.
Weather Forecast
Humid circumstances were expected to linger along large portions of eastern Queensland this next several days as a atmospheric system continued to draw in moisture against the shoreline.
Tomorrow was predicted as the most rainy day, with continued thunderstorm potential predicted across various areas of both states.
Health Warning
Health officials cautioned that there was an increased chance of weather-related respiratory issues across the countryside regions, particularly given the existing atmospheric conditions.
This caution comes after historical occurrences where similar conditions led to substantial respiratory problems in the area.
