In a unexpected collaboration that defies conventional expectations, Ubisoft has announced an virtual partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing free extra story content for Shadows players.

Strange Questline Revealed

According to the official announcement, "An unusual encounter pulls heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a original mission, where hints of banned rituals and fearsome transformations resonate through the darkness." The storyline introduces a "strangely dressed woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with journeying into the Crystalline Cavern—a key location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her companion from a secret sect.

The mission focuses on "bizarre experiments and a fearsome enemy" and is accessible to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.

Iconic Places and Metamorphoses

The teaser highlights the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was previously where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The preview finishes with a dramatic scene showing a character, likely the hostage, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Rewards and Bonus Material

Players who finish the quest will receive an special katana alongside numerous objects concealed throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also includes premium Attack on Titan item packs, offering:

This release also introduces the game's latest free story content, titled "A Puzzlement." Faithful to its name, "The Mystery" also includes a fresh environmental puzzle that may finally clarify some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
