American Officials Disclose Detainment in Disrupted Year-End Terror Scheme Near Southern California

Law enforcement officials announced on Monday that they had managed to foil a detailed scheme to explode explosive devices at multiple facilities run by two American firms on New Year's Eve in the southern part of the state. The operation resulted from the arrest of people linked to an militant faction espousing anti-capitalist and anti-establishment beliefs.

Suspects Apprehended During Remote Rehearsal

A quartet of suspects were taken into custody last Friday in the remote area found east of Los Angeles while they were reportedly running through their intended operation. Prosecutors showed aerial reconnaissance video to journalists, which captured the individuals transporting a big black item to a workspace. Officials noted that the arrests took place before the suspects could put together a operational explosive device.

Names of the Accused Released

As per the public criminal complaint, the four people identified are Audrey Illeene Carroll, 30; Zachary Aaron Page, 32 years old; Dante Gaffield, 24; and Lai, 41. The group are reportedly from the LA vicinity.

Suspected Driving Force and Ties

While officials did not clearly outline a motive, they stated the individuals are members of a splinter group dubbed the Turtle Island Liberation Front. The group according to documents advocates for "laborers to revolt and combat against the capitalist system," according to the legal filing.

Each suspect is charged with comprise conspiracy to commit a crime and owning a bomb. The government stated that additional accusations are anticipated in the next few weeks.

Elements of the Supposed "Midnight Sun Operation"

Officials said that one of the individuals had drafted a detailed blueprint last month to bomb five or more commercial sites across Southern California on New Year's Eve. The targets were likened to "similar to Amazon" distribution warehouses.

"This scheme was detailed," an official remarked. "It included step-by-step instructions to make bombs … and listed multiple targets across Orange County and Los Angeles."

According to the probe and legal filings, the scheme entailed planting rucksacks filled with sophisticated pipe bombs that were planned to be detonated all at once at midnight on New Year's Eve at several sites. New Year's Eve was identified as an ideal time since the document noted "celebratory explosions will be going off at this time so detonations will be more difficult to be heard."

An eight-page longhand plan, named "OPERATION MIDNIGHT SUN," noted that further locations could be incorporated. The sites were identified as property and buildings run by two distinct corporations tied to business related to national and international trade.

Additional Plots and Evidence Seized

The criminal complaint also stated that two people in the group had discussed later operations aimed at Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents and cars with explosives in 2026. One suspect allegedly commented that such strikes "would eliminate some and intimidate the rest of them."

These plans were reportedly discussed both at an in-person gathering in Los Angeles and through an encrypted communication application.

Images included in the case file reveal a remote camp with what officials described as bomb-making materials laid out on makeshift work surfaces.

Official documents states that the suspects "each brought explosive materials to the campsite, including different sizes of tubes, suspected an oxidizer, charcoal, charcoal powder, powdered sulfur, and items to be used as detonators, along with other items."

The plan also had directions on how to construct the devices and how to avoid leaving traces that could be linked back to the group. The suspects had not long ago purchased components and other materials, via acquisitions from online retailers.

Apprehension and Follow-up

The FBI took action last week as the suspects were rehearsing the attack in the desert near a California town. "They owned all the components they required to build an functional bomb at that location," the attorney stated.

As part of executed searches, officials reportedly located flyers for the Turtle Island Liberation Front at one suspect's home that called for "Down with America", and "Eliminate ICE". At another individual's apartment, police discovered a copy of the detailed explosives scheme.

The suspects were taken into custody without incident. They were due to make a court appearance in Los Angeles on Monday afternoon.
