Aircraft Carrying US Defense Secretary Forced to Land in UK Due to Fracture in Windshield
A jet carrying Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was forced to make an unplanned landing in the Britain on Wednesday following a fracture was found in the plane's windshield, as stated by an official announcement which stated that Hegseth was safe.
"The plane landed in accordance with established safety measures and everyone onboard, including Secretary Hegseth, is secure," a spokesperson stated in a social media post.
He was traveling back from a short visit to Brussels when the incident occurred.
This incident isn't the initial instance that a United States armed forces jet ferrying a senior official has experienced equipment failures.
In a previous incident this year, a US Air Force plane transporting Marco Rubio to the German city of Munich was required to turn back to Washington after encountering a mechanical problem.
